The Market Merchants Program

Saturday Retail Showroom Opportunity!

The Market Merchants program at our Retail & Development Center is a great place to get your services or products noticed, launched, and sold! Use our Retail Showroom as your store front every Saturday that you participate. Attend the market consistently and build your business with returning customers looking to do business with you!

Reservations

After you have submitted your application, you will be added to the roster. However, the dates that you have selected are not secured until you have paid. If someone else representing for your company pays before you, you lose your spot. 

Invoicing

Invoices are sent out on the 1st of each month for the following month's event. Payment is due upon receipt. If your invoice is not paid by the 15th of the month and we have not heard from you, your unpaid invoice will be cancelled and your spot filled.     

  

  • ALL payments are to be made by the invoice that is sent via email. 
  • No refunds.  All fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable to another date.  It is your responsibility to find an approved replacement to fill your spot if you cannot honor your commitment.

The Schedule

January – December  8:30 am – 5:00pm 

 

  • 8:30 am – 10:00 am -Set Up
  • 10:00 am – 4:00 pm- Open to Public
  • 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm -Tear Down


We may stay open later if the attendance requires it.

Cut-Off Date

The cut-off date to join is one week before. No one will be able to join after the cut-off date.


Joining late in the month but before the deadline? No problem! Fill out the application and you will be sent an invoice due upon receipt.  

The Setup

Bring Your Own Setup! The Market will not be providing tables and chairs at our retail center. This will allow each business owner the flexibility to design how they want their space to look.


Table Covers must look professional and be made of fabric with no wrinkles and must go to the floor on the front side of the table. Fitted Table Covers are the most desirable for our retail space.

Use of electricity is for placements along a wall. 

Normal Use Only. Bring your own extension cords.

into the air is not allowed.

Good to Know!

  • ATTIRE: Biz Casual. Please represent your business and the market well.
  • Product Balance: The market will work towards balance of products, but cannot always guarantee this.  In other words, we will try to make sure that the whole market is not made up of all “skin care” or all  “jewelry”. 
  • These are  “family” friendly events. Companies who handle “adult” products/clothing or have labels on their products that allude to something questionable  will not be allowed to participate. 
  • Only one Company can be Represented per space. Example: Some business leaders own two or more companies. In order to represent more than one company, separate spaces would need to be purchased. Some business leaders choose to alternate their businesses between the Saturdays they sign up for.

Oh, That Sales Tax Thing!

At the Market! is required to file a report with the State of Kansas for all businesses who participate.
All federal, state, and local laws governing retail sales tax must be followed. Failure to comply may result in expulsion.

  • If you are not registered with the State of Kansas as a business or a non-profit you will not be allowed to participate.
  • If you are a MLM (multi-level)/Direct Sales you are covered by your Company.
  • If you have an account with the State of Kansas, please make sure that your Kansas Retailers Sales Tax Registration Certificate is visible at your table.
  • Sales Tax Rate for Wichita:  7.5%


CRAFTERS:  Crafters without an account with the State of Kansas may file their sales tax through a packet that the market will supply to you. You will have 25 days to submit your sales tax. Please follow the rules for crafters per the State Laws. We will also monitor our crafters to make sure they are in compliance.

The Day of

You will have access to the building at 8:30am for set up. The front entry doors must be cleared by 10:00am when our store opens for business. 


The organizers do not provide help with unloading or loading, please bring your own helpers.

Only one helper per booth. 


No Children under 12 years old are allowed.  Children 12 years old and older must be helping at a booth. Please contact us if you are a nursing mother, we do make concessions for you and will help you find a private area if needed.


When You Arrive

  • Stop at the counter at the front door to confirm your reservation and to receive any further instructions. 
  • You will be walked to your assigned space and shown how to place your table. We will try not to have two of the same type of products/services next to each other, but that may not always be possible. Regardless, we always support our competitors At the Market!
  • If you want to be next to or close to your friend operating a booth, you will need to indicate that when you sign up. We will try to make it happen! 

Safety Works!

Please keep the store tidy during the day. Pick up pieces of paper or plastic off of the floor as soon as you see it. Please let a volunteer know about any spills or if the floor is wet. 


No-one is allowed to tear down early without prior permissions.  DO NOT TEAR DOWN UNTIL THE LAST CUSTOMER HAS LEFT! This is for safety reasons!!!

Now that you have read through everything about The Market Merchants program, you may fill out the online application and agreement. Click on the purple button below to apply. 


Once you have filled it out, our team will review the application. If we have any questions we will email you.  After you have been approved, you will receive a Welcome Email with further instructions. Your application is what will generate your invoice.
